The other day Sen. Biden, told us the next president would be "tested," just as John Kennedy was in the Cuban Missile crisis. Sen. Obama responded quickly to put Sen. Biden's comments in perspective. I believe this was with good reason:
John Kennedy was not first tested as president, as B.H. Obama would be, if elected. President Kennedy was first tested as an officer in the United States Navy, in time of war; as Sen. McCain was. Lt. Kennedy took an oath to defend the constitution of the United States from ALL enemies foreign and domestic, and he put his life on the line to do it: just as Lt. McCain did. Lt. Kennedy rode a speed boat with torpedoes attached to it into the enemy fleet: Lt. McCain rode a jet engine with wings and bombs attached to it into enemy anti-aircraft fire. Both were shot out of the saddle and both had their mettle tested. The BOTH passed the test. Both came home heroes.
After the war, during the Cuban Missile crisis, President Kennedy stood up to the Communist/Marxists. He faced them down. Thank God he had the fortitude (rephrased from sexist reference to male anatomy) to do it. Unlike Sen. Obama, who aspires to sit in the same seat President Kennedy did, JFK did not associate with Marxists who advocated the violent overthrow of our country. A refresher course in history: The Weather Underground, in which Bill Ayers was an active member, attacked our government, (similar to the way the Federal Building in Oklahoma was bombed by Mr. McVey). They did this many times and openly and actively advocated the overthrow of our government. I know, I watched it on the news as a teenager. Mr. Ayers believed in the same communism that had hold of the Soviet Union: the same Soviet Union that our President Kennedy was ready to go to war with to defend liberty and democracy.
All of this to say I believe there are HUGE differences between President Kennedy and Sen. Obama: Sen. Obama started his political career with Prof. Ayers by openly associating with communist/Marxist anarchists. He continued that association as a "community organizer." John Kennedy would NOT HAVE HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH a former member of the Weather Underground. He, in all probability, would have kicked Bill Ayers' rear end given the chance. It is truly an insult to President Kennedy's memory to compare Sen. Obama to a President who fought communism.
Obama responded to Biden's comments to kill this conversation because President John F. Kennedy had a lot more in common with John McCain of today than with B.H. Obama. To paraphrase another former democratic candidate: Mr. Obama, you are NO John Kennedy.
